  1. Redistricting Update presented to the SCPS School Board on 2 / 2 3 / 2 0 1 9 By ARCBridge Consulting 21515 Ridgetop Circle # 290 Sterling VA www.arcbridge.com 1

  2. Agenda  Status Update  Directions from the Board after 2/2 meeting  Created 6 Plans for Board review  Plan C approach based on radius.  Presentation of Plans  Plan C, D, and E

  3. Status Update  At our last meeting with the Board on Feb 2 nd , we presented the redistricting process and the criteria used in creating Plans A and B that were presented at the Town Hall Meetings.  Edited versions of Plans A & B were presented. Large scale maps were provided for the website.  The edited Plans A & B took into account the human factor, from comments from the community via Town Hall Meetings, emails and Facebook.

  4. After the School Board Meeting on 2 / 2  We received updated redistricting criteria  The School Board wanted 6 additional plans 3 plans were to be created to address reduced program capacity at Ferry Farm ES.  Program Capacities were changed to address the F & R Lunch numbers  Two plans were to be created using a radius around the schools.

  5. Updated Redistricting Criteria  No school to have higher Free/Reduced lunch percentage than current highest school's Free/Reduced lunch percentage (53.58%)  Bus rides no longer than any current bus rides  Percent utilization for each school, for the first four years, to be within a range of 80-91%  Create Plan C based on a radius methodology with starting point as the school location, working outward  For Revised Plan A, Revised Plan B, and Plan C, the plans should be made 2 ways- one way with Ferry Farm ES capacity "full" and the other with Ferry Farm ES capacity "reduced" 6 total  Plans should incorporate any changes to the class sizes as a result of 30% or higher free lunch (work with SCPS so program capacity could be recalculated)

  6. Plans Created  ARCBridge worked with the new criteria, updated capacities and created 6 plans which were submitted to SCPS SME on Feb 15 th . (we received updated capacity tables on Feb 4 th , 12 th , Feb 15 th and Feb 22 nd )  On Feb 19 th we received comments from SME meeting and also that the FFES Reduced Capacity Plans were put on hold.
