REQUIREMENTS & PRIORITIES

Board of School Trustees 2018-19 Redistricting Requirements and Priorities Requirement The redistricting process will reach target building capacities, providing space for schools in areas of growth and accommodating the opening of Southeastern Elementary School. Priorities for Consideration (in no particular order) To the greatest extent possible:

  • 1. Assign students to attend schools closest to their homes.
  • 2. Attempt to design a “feeder” pattern.
  • 3. Maintain neighborhoods and subdivisions.
  • 4. Consider stability of programs for Exceptional Learners instructional learning spaces.
  • 5. Provide capacity at schools with the greatest potential for growth.
  • 6. Reduce the number of portables in the school district.

Intermediate/Junior High)

  • 2% more elementary students and 0.5% more INT/JH students attend their closest school than in
  • riginal Scenario 1
  • Plan reduces the number of portables needed
  • Only one elementary will have to cross Highway 37 (Harrison Parkway ES)
