Thoughts on rags – Textile Recycling Association

  • Likely the markets will come under increasing pressure
  • Number of businesses either withdrawing from sorting in the

UK or scaling back their sorting operations significantly in the last year or so

  • Possible that shipments of used clothing will be subjected to

increasing checks from customs officers -Transfrontier Shipments of Waste Regulations

  • Prices paid likely to reduce with increased burdens

  • Revolve is Scotland’s national re-use quality standard
  • It is a certification scheme that supports businesses dealing in second

hand goods to be legally compliant, meet trading standards, and provide an excellent customer experience

  • Our goal is to increase the purchase of second hand over new and we do

that by supporting second hand stores to appeal to a wider audience and sell more
