CLAY MINERALS OCCURRENCE IN INDIA

 India has estimated clay resources of about 2804 Million tons as per Indian

Bureau of Mines report (2014-2015 Mineral Year Book)

 The reserve constitute only about 7% of resources at 208.5 Million tons in terms

  • f proved & possible reserve estimation system as per UNFC classification .

 In case of China clay availability Kerala state holds 25% of total reserve followed

by W.B & Rajasthan States (16% each) and Orissa & Karnataka (10%)

 In case of Ball clay resource A.P Contributes 60% & 38% from Rajasthan state .
