ENTER AND MOVE PRODUCTS ACROSS EU MARKET

R+T Asia 2019 - IWDS InnovAction Award - Doors & Gates

Shanghai - February 27-28, 2019

The European Union has regulated the market to allow free trade in goods among the 27 member countries. The regulation consists of European “laws" (Directives) that have value in all countries and that go beyond national laws. The covered economic sectors of our main interest are:

  • The Construction Products (Mechanical, Energy, Safety, Durability, ...)
  • Construction Products Regulation 305/2011 (CPR)
  • The Machines (driven by non-human energy, safety aspects, …)
  • Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC (MD)
  • The

Electrical Components (low-voltage systems, electromagnetic compatibility, radiofrequency, ….)

  • Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (LVD)
  • Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 2014/30/EU (EMC)

Shanghai - February 27-28, 2019

Products “to be placed” on the EU market must satisfy:

  • The Basic Requirements related to the safety and protection of end users

(data in terms of performance to be declared by the manufacturer)

  • The characteristics, referred to a specific product (for example a door), are

described in European Technical Standards (EN Standards), that specify the basic requirements and combine them with the verification methods (tests, frequencies, etc.). These EN Standards are listed in the Official Journal of European Union with the specific number, date of issue, title and date of entry into force.

same characteristics

Some tests are to be performed at laboratories recognized at EU level

  • 3. Implement a factory production control, as described in the applicable

standard, to ensure that all the similar products must have the same characteristics of the sample subjected to the TT

  • 4. Execute the risk analysis
  • 5. Complementation the technical construction file
  • 6. Provide the documentation indicated as mandatory for the product according

the CPR and the applicable EN standards. Declare the value and / or class for each essential characteristics (for some of them is allowed to declare “value not determined”, if not required by the law

  • f the country of supply or the intended use)
