  1. Group Monteiro de Matos Wines with History

  2. “Quinta Monteiro de Matos” is a family fine winemaking company, located at Tejo Region, 50km Northeast of Lisbon, that was born with the passion for the wines. This project started in the middle of XX century, by Antonio Monteiro de Matos. The idea to plant vineyards and start building our own brands, initially was only for the domestic market, where our wines where recognised as quality wines, and we never lost the focus to make wines with good relation price vs quality.

  3. After two decades, Antonio Monteiro de Matos bought more land to plant more vineyards, in order to have production for the demands, that were increasing year after year. Due to demands, and with the idea to start exporting our wines, it was created a new company, that is “Vinibatalha,Lda.”, located 30km north of the vineyards, only for warehouse, bottling, and shipping containers, in 1980. This company was founded to be the commercial company of the Group Monteiro de Matos.

  4. All the wines produced by the group, are sold by “Vinibatalha,Lda”, belonging all to the family Monteiro de Matos. Nowadays, with the 3rd generation of the family in the head of the business, our wines are in more than 20 countries, and our export sales are already 75% of the total sales of the group. We have a range of wines, from the entry level, medium level, and high end wines, with wines recognised with the seal of quality.

  5. Our commitement is the same since the beginning, that is to produce wines with quality, and best value, because we are in “Love for wine”.
