Que uestion: n: What is your primary interest in land and/or water resources management?

Ø “Future availability and quality.” “Sustaining existing resource“ Ø “Having enough water that is useable, drinkable” Ø “Not having any problems with my well.” Ø “I would like to see our groundwater managed so this resource remains available to all for the future.” Ø “Keep on top of what changes might happen. I’d like to just have an unmetered well but also know if there are any conservation needs.” Ø “Private wells remain untaxed for domestic/non-commercial use -- water recharge projects along the Cosumnes river” Ø “Riparian habitat protection and restoration/sustainable groundwater and protection for aquatic resources”

Que uestion: n: Wha hat are your ur conce ncerns rns abo bout ut groundw undwater r mana nagement?

Ø New regulations that may lead to additional costs for our current water needs. Ø Accelerating vineyard development in this area may be cause for concern in the

future.

Ø We wonder how much water is in the ground and if we are in any danger of

ever running out of water

Ø My concern is that the well may someday go dry. Ø We hope to preserve water on the property for future generations Ø Yes - too much governmental involvement!

Que uestion: n: Do you have recommendations that you would like the Working Group to consider while developing a GSP? If so, what are they?

Ø

Re Recharge: “Any available surface water available to supplement agricultural groundwater usage in the region, either from American (via existing canal) or Cosumnes River? Any appropriate recharge basins in the region?”

Ø

“Exceptions or provision for pre-existing established landscapes.”

Ø

“New domestic wells should be limited; Consider requirements for gray water systems for all new residential projects."

Ø

“Do not impact/tax domestic users.” “Don't punish residential water use, which is where a small percentage of water is used.”

Ø

“Informational meetings for land owners; go slow with lots of examples and documentation. I am sure that we all want to do the right thing with our land/water.”

Ø

“Keep residents and well owners informed as much as possible.”

Ø

“Provide land owners and users of groundwater up to date water levels in the basin so good decisions are made for future use of the resource.”

Ø

“Use best available science”
