Background
In order to support RbD verification processes, MPRN snapshots were taken from UKLink in 2002 and again in 2005 where the postcode did not map to the correct LDZ
- Monthly reports highlight incorrect relationships from these datasets and are
shared with the Industry via the monthly performance packs.
- Current processes dictate that to correct any incorrect relationships, the
affected MPRNs require reconfirmation by the Shipper, which then corrects the relationship.
- The reconfirmation process causes issues for the Industry as in some cases it
may trigger a ‘goodbye’ letter to the end consumer.
Postcode / Exit Zone
Summary Design Impact There are 9,956 MPRN’s where Post Code and Exit Zone are mapped incorrectly in current UK Link. 2002 – 5,067 2005 – 4,889 There are no migration issues There are no design impacts Migration Impact Existing anomalies from the 2002 and 2005 datasets are transformed automatically at the point of migration to the correct Exit Zone. Notification files will not be issued as a result of the transformation activity
