to the void deck of Blk 234. If your child is sick:
- Your child is not allowed to go home on his/her own.

School Arrival
- Students will report to the Sheltered Basketball Court on the
1st 2 days of school.
- Parents will be allowed to be around at the side of the
basketball court from 7.30 a.m. to 8.00 a.m.
Recess
- Parents will be allowed to be at the side of the canteen
during recess (10.30 a.m. – 11.00 a.m.).
- Do ensure that your child has sufficient money to purchase
food from the canteen vendors. Parents are NOT ALLOWED to purchase food on behalf of your child.

Day 1 & Day 2
School Dismissal
- All P1 students will be dismissed from the hall during the 1st
2 days of school.
- Parents will be allowed to enter into the school hall to fetch
your child.
- Your child’s form teacher/co-form teacher will be in the hall
to answer your queries, if any.
- For students taking school bus or going to student care
centre, they will be brought to the respective personnel by the teachers.
- From Week 1 (06 Jan) onwards, dismissal will be based on
your choice as stated in the Dismissal Option Form.

Buddy System
- All Primary 1 students will be assigned a buddy
from Primary 5 for 3 weeks (2 - 17 January 2020) during recess.
- To help assimilate the Primary 1 students into the
new school environment and to teach them essential life skills.
- Teachers and prefects will also be on duty to assist
your child to purchase food.
Snack Time
- All students will be allowed a 10 minutes snack
time at 12.30 p.m. in their respective classrooms.
- Parents are encouraged to prepare bite-sized
healthy snacks for your child to bring to school.
- Examples: Fruits, Nuts, Wholemeal bun

Attendance
- All students are required to attend all daily lessons,
morning assembly and school functions as required.
- All students must be punctual when reporting for
school.
- Parents need to inform the school of their child’s
absence from school or any of the activities mentioned above.
- Upon returning to school, the student must produce a
medical certificate

a letter from the parent/guardian, stating the reason for absence.
- Conduct grade of the child will be affected if there are
long periods of absences due to invalid reasons.

Attendance
- Absences from school will impact learning. When students
are absent, they miss:
- the learning from classroom discussion and
activities;
- the possibility of clarifying their doubt when they are
unclear;
- the social development when they work in small
groups;
- the opportunity to use the school resources for their
learning.
- Allowing a child to miss school for no valid reason may lead
to school refusal and a drop in his/her conduct grade.

Compulsory Education Act
- According
to the Compulsory Education Act, a child
- f
‘compulsory school age’ is one who is above the age of 6 years and who has not yet attained the age of 15 years.
- A child of compulsory school age born after 1st January
1996, and who is citizen of Singapore residing in Singapore, has to attend a national primary school as a pupil regularly, unless he/she has been exempted from compulsory education, e.g. a child with special needs, a child attending a designated school, a child receiving home-schooling, information on exemptions).
- The penalties provided in the Act for a person convicted for the
- ffence are a fine not exceeding $5,000, or to imprisonment
for a term not exceeding 12 months, or to both.
