What at i is SNA SNAP?
SNAP provides assistance for the purchase of food to eligible, low-income residents of New Mexico.
Households with a gross income of less than 165% of FPL* are eligible
The maximum monthly allotment* is

New work requirements were signed into law by President Bill Clinton in 1996 under the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA)
These requirements were in effect in New Mexico from 1997 until 2009, when they were suspended with the implementation of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)
Beginning October 2013, New Mexico re-implemented mandatory E&T requirements for childless adults
Beginning October 2014, re-implementation of E&T and ABAWD requirements will go into effect – removing the 2009 waiver

Residents in the following counties, tribes, pueblos, and nations will be exempt from the E&T requirement because the unemployment rate for the months of May 2014-July 2014 is greater than 10% (based on current data): Residents in the following counties, tribes, pueblos, and nations will be waived from the ABAWD requirement because the unemployment rate is 20% higher than the two-year national average (based on current data). Residents of tribes, pueblos and nations that are not listed below will be exempt from the ABAWD requirements until Phase 3 (August 2015).
