Construction Staging and Traffic Control • Access to businesses/residents maintained at all times • Notify business/property owners in advance of closure or restriction of access • Bi ‐ weekly meetings with business/property owners will be held to discuss the project schedule of operations including vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian access during construction operations • Portable Changeable Message Signs in advance of project to alert traffic • One lane of traffic in each direction throughout project • Temporary turn lanes at intersections • Temporary signals • Temporary crosswalks, sidewalks and bus stops • No work near Allen Boulevard intersection during Good Neighbor Festival Weekend • No work near Spring Harbor Drive intersection during school drop off and pick up times • No work on Badger home football game and UW Graduation days • Six stages of construction • Construction staging and schedule are subject to change • Construction to be completed by October 26, 2012

Stage 1 Construction (Approx. 3/26 ‐ 4/23) Traffic • Remove medians, place temporary • Traffic reduced to one lane in each pavement for Stage 2 traffic direction from Allen Boulevard to Old Utility work Middleton Road and two lanes in each • • Install temporary traffic signals (Allen direction from Old Middleton Road to Boulevard, Capital Avenue, Spring Harbor Segoe Road Drive, and Whitney Way intersections) • Intersections open (sometimes under • Clearing and grubbing on entire project flagging)

Stage 2 Traffic Construction (Approx. 4/23 ‐ 6/25) • Traffic reduced to one lane in each • Construct University Avenue eastbound direction from Allen Boulevard to Old lanes Middleton Road and two lanes in each Construct Spring Harbor pedestrian • direction from Old Middleton Road to underpass under eastbound lanes Segoe Road • Construct Capital Avenue (South), • St. Dunstan Drive intersection closed Norman Way (West), and Whitney Way • All other intersections open (sometimes intersections utilizing staged under flagging) construction • Temporary sidewalk on north ‐ side from • Construct Heim Avenue, Hickory Hollow Capital Avenue to Spring Harbor Drive Drive, Laurel Crest (South) and Craig • University Avenue approaches to Old Avenue intersections using flagging Middleton/railroad overpass to be operations during off ‐ peak hours closed (during night time hours only) for Grade and pave Old Middleton • 2 consecutive nights, Traffic will be Road/railroad overpass approaches detoured via Whitney Way and Old • Install street lights Middleton Road, University Avenue open during day

Stage 3 Construction (Approx. 6/25 ‐ 7/23) Traffic • Construct University Avenue eastbound • Traffic reduced to one lane in each inside lane (for Stage 4 traffic) direction from Allen Boulevard to Old Construct Old Middleton Road Middleton Road and two lanes in each • Eastbound On ‐ Ramp to University direction from Old Middleton Road to Avenue Segoe Road • Install street lights • St. Dunstan Drive intersection closed • All other intersections open (sometimes under flagging) • Old Middleton Road Eastbound On ‐ Ramp to University Avenue closed for a maximum of 14 calendar days (from approx. 7/9 ‐ 7/23)

Stage 4 Construction (Approx. 7/23 ‐ 10/1) Traffic • Construct University Avenue westbound • Traffic reduced to one lane in each direction from Allen Boulevard to Old outside lanes Middleton Road and two lanes in each Construct Spring Harbor pedestrian • direction from Old Middleton Road to underpass under westbound lanes Segoe Road • Construct Allen Boulevard, Capital • St. Dunstan Drive intersection closed Avenue (North), Norman Way (East), • Baker Avenue, Hickory Drive, and Laurel and Spring Harbor Drive intersections Crest ‐ North intersections to be closed utilizing staged construction one at a time • Construct Overlook Pass, Camus Lane, • All other intersections open (sometimes Fritz Avenue, and Tomahawk Trail under flagging) intersections using flagging operations during off ‐ peak hours Construct Baker Avenue, Hickory Drive, • and Laurel Crest (North) intersections • Install street lights
