What problems are we trying to solve?

  • Dangerous conditions for pedestrians and bikers on 17th Street
  • Neighborhood population increase, but no corresponding increase
  • f parks
  • Illegal use of Caltrans right-of-way (dumping, camping)
  • 400 Block San Bruno – no protection from freeway (noise, dirt,

exhaust)

  • 400 Block Vermont – unsafe speeding from offramp down to 17th St.

What kinds of solutions do we propose?

  • Bulbouts and enlarged sidewalks to increase safety
  • Beautification of San Bruno / 17th Street / Vermont

pedestrian and bike experience to increase activation.

  • Additional green areas for sitting, walking, enjoying

vegetation and view

  • Art experiences to increase activation
  • Green Fences to protect community from freeway
  • Removal of Lane on Vermont to provide traffic calming
