What others say

November 26, 2018

We wish to thank you for the lovely evening Saturday. I have attended The Messiah in Toronto with the Mendelssohn Choir and enjoyed your rendition more! Loved it!! Lynda Pacora, Warkworth.

It went by soooo fast. It was great. Well-timed and the choir really sounded like a unit. The soloists were fantastic and I didn’t expect so many musicians. The acoustics were great. I loved it when the audience stood up to sing the chorus. Marjorie Willoughby, Norham

Our request to Council

  • seeking funding for our May 2019 concert, to support the event and Oriana Singers’ overall success.
  • Music of the Americas theme to be postponed, due to cultural sensitivities.
  • new theme is North meets South, celebrating Canadian and American composers and how we are all

connected, to include composers from Northumberland: Nancy Telfer, Mark Sirett and Robert Grandy.

  • Funding will help ensure quality concerts, allow new music acquisition, hiring of local guest artists,

collaboration with local ensembles

  • Funding will help ensure the choir continues to thrive and give back to the community that has

supported us so wonderfully these last 49 years.

Our thanks!

We thank Council for its consideration of this request, and for our grant last year. We trust it has proven to be a good return on your investment. Council support has provided a valuable level of endorsement that helps our efforts to generate dollar support from donors and other contributors. Choristers and volunteers feel pride in Council’s interest and investment, and encouraged by a sense of partnership in continued cultural development. Photo by Mark Edwardson
