  6. KX-TDE0110, KX-TDE0111 DSP16/64 • KX-TDE0110 – 16 Channel Digital Signal Processing Card – KX-NCS4104 Activation Key Pre-Installed – KX-NCS4508 Activation Key Pre-Installed – Supports G.729 and G.711 Codec – Initial configuration is 4 IP trunks by 8 IP PT’s • KX-TDE0111 – 64 Channel Digital Signal Processing Card – 4 - KX-NCS4104 Activation Keys Pre- Installed – 4- KX-NCS4508 Activation Keys Pre- Installed – Supports G.729 and G.711 Codec – Initial configuration is 16 IP trunks by 32 IP PT’s 6

  7. DSP 16/64 Cards • DSP – Converts the signaling for IP (IP extension / IP trunk, which exchange Voice data as IP packet) and signaling for TDM (PCM signaling method, which is used in extension / trunk card, except for IP-GW and IP-EXT) – This card exchanges the different CODEC between G.711 and G.729 – If you want to use VoIP function, you need to install DSP16 or DSP64 DSP 16 TDM side IP Trunk DSP 64 Non-Peer to Peer PSTN MOH communication Need DSP. DPT IP-EXT: Ext. Pager IP-PT SIP Ext. Peer to Peer Service Tone SLT communication does not IP-EXT: MSG/SVM need DSP. Doorphone IP-PT SIP Ext. 7

  8. DSP 16/64 Cards • The available communications paths from IP interface to traditional telephony interface is limited to 49 paths on both TDE100 and TDE200 - If SVM is disabled then limited to 53 paths • There is a limitation of a maximum of 32 IP trunk paths 1 PSTN 49 32 G729 DSP Traditional DPT IP Trunk 2 3 SLT For H323 Trunk and SIP Trunk MOH G711 Doorphone Ext. Pager IP Extension Max. 64 IP-PT or 128 SIP Phone MSG/SVM Service Tone 8

  9. DSP 16/64 Cards • VoIP DSP capacities are calculated by a combination of the available DSP processing power, and the available paths through any interconnecting IP trunks and extensions • Three voice codec's are available – G.711/G.722 79.5 kbps using 30 ms packets – G.729 23.5 kbps using 30 ms packets – G.722 is used for P2P only – No DSP resource is used! • G.729 has the lowest network utilization but it also has the highest DSP processor utilization 9
