ADP-ENERGY (ABIOTIC DEPLETION POTENTIAL)

 This impact category describes the reduction of the availability of the

fossil energy carriers.

 The reference substance for the characterisation factors is antimony.

POCP (PHOTOCHEMICAL OZONE CREATION

POTENTIAL)

At ground-level ozone is classified as a damaging trace gas.

Photochemical ozone production in the troposphere (summer smog), is suspected to damage vegetation and material, high concentrations of ozone are toxic even for humans.

Sun radiation and the presence of nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbons incur complex chemical reactions producing aggressive reaction products, one of which is ozone.

High concentrations of ozone do not often occur near hydrocarbon emission sources.

Actual ozone concentration is strongly influenced by the weather and by the characteristics of the local conditions (temperature, humidity, concentrations of hydrocarbons…)

CONCLUSION

 The largest ADP - energy potential is present in the case of heavy fuel oil

and technologies based on fossil fuels.

 The highest POCP impact have combastion technologies.  Czechia should try decrease impact of both above mentioned criterias.
