Dear WDGF Board of Directors, It is with great pleasure that we present a joint application with Deaf Golf Australia for consideration as host nation for the 2022 World Deaf Golf Championships. We are also proud to present our preferred host club, the RACV Royal Pines Resort, located on Queensland’s famous Gold Coast. A championship resort and long-term home to the Australian PGA Championship, RACV Royal Pines is considered to be one of the leading golf resorts in Australia with a championship golf course, access to premium accommodation, world class conference and function facilities all within a short distance from the Gold Coast International Airport and some of Australia’s best beaches and attractions. The championship also provides us with the opportunity to showcase Golf Australia’s great relationship with Deaf Golf Australia through marketing and tournament delivery by Golf Australia. A Message from Deaf Sports Australia
Dear WDGF Board of Directors, Deaf Sports Australia (DSA) is the recognised peak body for deaf sport in Australia by the Australian Sports Commission. DSA assists Australians who are deaf or hard of hearing to participate in sport at all levels and compete in designated State, National and International events including the Australian Deaf Games, Asia Pacific Deaf Games and the Deaflympic Games through partnerships with governments, business, national and state sporting bodies and the community. DSA is a membership based entity that is a company limited by guarantee. Its members are either National Deaf Sport Committees or State Deaf Sport Committees. One of our National members, Deaf Golf Australia is wanting to submit an application to host and conduct the 2022 World Deaf Golf Championship at the Royal Pines Golf Club on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. DSA is very supportive of this submission that if successful would provide a showcase of Australia’s Deaf golf talent in our own backyard at a great course overseen by an efficient and hard working Deaf Golf Australia committee and very importantly supported by Golf Australia. As highlighted at the recent Australian Deaf Games, Deaf Golf Australia are very enthusiastic to ensure golf is played by as many deaf and hard of hearing Australians, with at the same time highlighting exciting golf pathways for everyone to experience.
