BID PERIODS

Bid periods begin February 1, June 1 and October 1. October is the only open bid where a flight attendant can get bumped or "flushed." During a closed bid you cannot be bumped from your current 7&7 line or Choice Schedule by someone more senior.

7&7 EIGHT DAY ELECTION

Flight attendants may bid a 7&7 schedule and elect to add an extra day per tour. The company may place this day at beginning of the tour or at the end. It will remain placed in the same location for duration of bid period. This election pays 18% above your base salary.

ZERO DAY ELECTION

A flight attendant may elect on their bid form to come out a day early for travel purposes only. Domestic travel allows for no earlier than a 12:00 noon start time or international at 8:00am. This pays 7% more than your base pay.

CHOICE SCHEDULES

Choice Schedules are published no later than the 15th of the month prior. Flight attendants may make preference selections before the 10th of the month prior using the PLCS. The PLCS allows flight attendants to choose a variety of tour options. Flight attendants bidding Choice Schedules should familiarize themselves with the plus or minus rules in section 19.1(B) On choice 60, 72 and 76 schedules if you select max 8-day tours, you will be paid an additional 3% above base pay in addition to applicable over rides.

CHOICE SCHEDULES

Choice 52: A flight attendant may bid to work 52 days in a 4 month bid period. The max tour length is 8 days. This schedule is published by the 15th of the month

  • prior. Flight attendants on the 52 day choice schedule are paid 10% less

than their base 7&7 salary. Note: The plus/minus rule allows for allows for a 3 day adjustment. Refer to section 19.1(B)

Choice 60

Allows you to select a 7-day or 8-day maximum tour length. Allows you to be scheduled in a "flexible type" schedule with a cap of 60 days in a bid period. Allows flight attendants to use the PLCS There is no pay premium over the 7&7 rate for this schedule.

Choice 72

Allows you to select a 7-day or 8-day maximum tour length. Allows you to be scheduled in a "flexible type" schedule with a cap of 72 days in a bid period. Allows flight attendants to use the PLCS. Pays 22% over base 7&7 pay (when combined with 8- day max tour choice, this will pay 25% over 7&7 wages).

Choice 76: Allows you to select a 7-day or 8-day maximum tour length. Allows you to be scheduled in a "flexible type" schedule with a cap of 76 days in a bid period. Allows flight attendants to use the PLCS Pays 30% over base 7&7 pay (when combined with 8-day max tour choice, this will pay 33% over 7&7 wages).

When on a Choice Schedule if you work an 8 day tour, the minimum time off is 5 days.

INVOLUNTARY ASSIGNMENTS

Although involuntary assignments are unlikely, if less than 20% of Flight Attendants in a fleet choose the Choice 72 or 76 combined, then the Company may involuntarily assign Flight Attendants to the Choice 72. If this occurs, such Flight Attendants may choose the Choice 76 instead..

FAILURE TO BID

A failure to bid on an open bid cycle will result in a flight attendant being placed on the schedule they previously

  • held. If that schedule is not available, they will be placed
  • n any available 7/7. For example: If you hold a 7/7

Wednesday start and forget to bid, you will be placed on a Wednesday 7/7. If Wednesday start is not available you will be assigned a 7/7 with a different start date.

OVERTIME EQUITY

The maximum allowed extended days in a year have been reduced to 12 per year on the 7/7, Choice 52 and Choice 60 schedules. There is no limit on the other Choice schedules. This will allow the extended days to be awarded with more equity. Comp days remain unchanged.

LAST DAY OVERTIME

Contract year 1: A flight attendant returned to their HBA after 2200 on the last work day will accrue an hourly

  • vertime for all duty after 2200. (Paid in 15 minute

increments) Contract year 2: the 2200 time changes to 2100 Contract years 3-7: the 2100 time changes 2000.
