Spring Sports
▪ Students must maintain passing grades in all academic subjects in order to remain eligible to participate in athletics at KJH. ▪ Students are warned of potential eligibility prior to academic removal from a sport.
Quest
○ Supports students in Language Arts and/or Math ○ Builds skills that will translate into success in other classes ○ Students will be placed in Quest based on MAP scores, AIR scores, and teacher recommendation ▪ Scores used for placement indicate that students are not on track to pass state assessments, EOC Exams or receive college ready scores on ACT/SAT without intervention ○ Mandatory class for those who qualify ▪ Qualifying students received a letter ○ Quest is a two-semester class, and will take the place of an encore ▪ Students’ progress will be tracked and students that meet performance goals will be able to choose an encore to take in its place
YES Program
○ After school program ○ 7th grade Teacher recommendation ○ Meets Tuesdays & Thursdays from 2:30-4:00 pm ○ Work on homework or missing work ○ No Activity Bus at KJH
○ Students are placed in advanced classes based on the following information: ▪ Common classroom assessments ▪ AIR scores ▪ MAP scores ▪ Grades ○ In order to request a change in placement (a placement that was not recommended) ▪ Fill out a Course Placement Change Request Form and turn it into your counselor
○ Students earn high school & college credit at the same time ○ Students are in charge of learning in the CCP Program
○ Student entering grades 7-12 ○ Apply to the participating college ○ Deemed “College Ready…” ○ Schedule an assessment at the college OR ○ Appropriate ACT or SAT score ■ ACT Subscores: English (18), Reading (22), Math (22) ■ SAT Scores: Writing (430), Reading (480), Math (530)

▪ Language Arts (or Accelerated LA) ▪ Math (or Accelerated 7th Grade Math, or High
School Honors Algebra)
▪ Social Studies ▪ Science
Beginning with the Class of 2022, all courses taken for High School Credit will remain on a student’s transcript.
*The only course that fits this criteria in 7th grade is Honors Algebra I

○ Students need to fill TWO bells in each semester. This can be achieved through the following combinations:
○ Some encore classes are offered in 8th grade for High School Credit
○ Choir ○ Band ○ Percussion ○ Strings ○ Guided Intervention (students with IEPs) ○ Quest (based on scores & teacher recommendation) Based on District & State data, as well as teacher recommendation, some students will be required to participate in an intervention course. (QUEST or Guided Intervention.)
○ Art ○ Physical Education ○ Health ○ Intro to the Spanish Language ○ Project Lead the Way: Design and Modeling/Green Architecture ○ Project Lead the Way: Automation and Robotics ○ Medical Detectives ○ 21st Century Technology Skills
