Introduction

Rubber breeding in Indonesia has been carried out since 1917 Up to now produced four generation clones

  • G1 : 1917 – 1935 (selected clones)
  • G2 : 1935 – 1960 (Tjir 1, PR 107, GT 1, AV 2037)
  • G3 : 1960 – 1985 (BPM, PR, TM series)
  • G4 : 1985 – 2010 (IRR series)

reduced immature period from 6-7 yr to 4 yr increased productivity from 500 to 2500 kg/ha/yr

Conclusions

  • 1. IRRI has produced four generation clones named

IRR (Indonesian Rubber Research)

  • 2. Some of those have been recommended for

2010-2014 period viz. : IRR 104 and IRR 220 as a latex clones, and IRR 5, IRR 39, IRR 42, IRR 107, IRR 112, IRR 118, IRR 119 as a timber-latex clones.

  • 3. IRRI has also evaluated the other IRR series clone,
  • viz. :
  • In FT/AT : IRR 100, IRR 200 series
  • In PP : IRR 200, IRR 300 series
  • In PT : IRR 300, 400, 500, 600, 700 series
  • In SET : IRR 800, 900 series candidate
