2017 NPS Accomplishments:

1) Conducted snorkel surveys of Stehekin River side channel index reaches on six

• ccasions from April– September. Survey goals were to document WCT spawning

activities and monitor abundance and distribution of salmonids. 2) Kokanee spawning surveys were conducted on CPUD index sites five times from August 29th to October 24th. 3) eDNA sample collection was performed at 26 sites in Stehekin basin. Samples will be examined for westslope cutthroat, rainbow, brook and bull trout. 4) Collected 100 trout fry from Stehekin River spawning habitat for genetic analysis. Identification of newly emerged fry is an alternative method used to determine spawning locations of WCT.
