Eastside Early Learning Facilitators Project

Results from WA Kids Assessment show that Black and Latino students do not demonstrate readiness at the same rate as their peers WHAT IS IT?

– Grant awarded to Eastside Pathways in partnership with NISO from BSK – Two-way Approach

INTENT OF THE PROJECT?

– Connect Latino families to resources and providers – To empower and encourage families to self-advocate – Ultimately to support Latino kids to thrive in school

HOW HAS THIS PROJECT BEEN EXECUTED?

– Latino community members trained in Promotores Model - recruited as EELF – EELF are the bridge between the Community & Eastside Providers – Providers to share and connect to create sustainable changes

WHERE ARE WE AT TODAY?

– We have connected with and continue to serve 33 families – Planning 2nd phase

  • Serve more families

The Total number of visits can range anywhere from 3 – 8 visits depending on the needs of the family. Final Closing meeting is supervised by the NISO team where the family is interviewed to fill out the Exit survey. Data is collected at multiple checkpoints through this process.
