Conclusion
- There is strong evidence for reduced cardiovascular mortality by
exposure to urban green spaces
- There is strong evidence for that this may be explained by urban
green spaces’ effects on heat and on mood
- There is low evidence for any effect on lung cancer and birth weight
- This corresponds to the low evidence for pathways which might have
explained these outcomes – stress reduction and physical activity
