Safe Traveling

International traveling is exciting and wonderful! There are always unforeseen risks and dangers involved in traveling, especially overseas. Travelers need to know of these risks. However, we as a group will take no unnecessary risks. We have trip interruption insurance. We have a travel organization that will make decisions based on the State Department recommendation in case of a

  • crisis. They will make any necessary plans to keep our group safe.

Travelers, both adults and students, need to know there will be guidelines and rules in place throughout the trip designed to keep them safe, healthy, and having a great time. These guidelines need to be followed. We can’t risk taking someone on the trip who could put themselves or others in harm because they can’t follow directions closely. Forms regarding safety, travel expectations, and school behavior will be provided in the fall of 2019.

Traveling …

 Traveling with a group to a far-away place is amazing!

It is VERY different, however, from a personal or family vacation. Flexibility, patience, and a good attitude is necessary.

 This trip is physically demanding. There will be a lot of

walking, uphill and downhill. You will be out and about from dawn until past dusk. Be sure you’re ready for it!

 When making your decision about this trip, please

familiarize yourself with the fine print on the back of

  • flyer. There is a lot of additional information you need

to know. Please ask me if you have questions.

Fundraising

 Individual fundraising ideas:

 Get a job!  This often pays a lot better than a group

fundraiser.

 Bake sale  Raffle  Car wash/vacuuming service  Odd jobs- tell neighbors, friends, family member you are

raising money for a trip

 Birthday/Christmas gifts… ask your family to liquidate

for one year  Group fundraising

 We will chat about this option with the group that forms.
