  • Input voltage: 6..8 V
  • Efficiency per FEAST (from FEASTMP datasheet):

– 86% (3 * 6 ASDs ≈ 1,900 mA @ 3.0 V) – 74% (6 TDCs ≈ 1,800 mA @ 1.2 V)

  • Total power per mezzanine card:

1,591 mW (1,105 mW + 486 mW)

Conclusions

  • Reducing the ASD supply from 3.3 V to 3.0 V

saves ≈ 30% power.

  • Power efficiency needs system level approach.
  • Most promising: 2 x 3 FEASTs for groups á 6

mezzanine cards on the CSM motherboard.

  • BUT:

– Increased design-, test- and installation effort. – Potential delay in design and production schedule. – Effect on noise and analog performance must be studied.
