Kamelia Cleantech Scrubbers

  • Customised. Compliant. Commercial. Complete.

U- line (Traditional Scrubbers) ✚ More energy efficient as require less spray

water

✚ Works in all sea areas ✚ Can be bypassed ✚ No risk to engine ✚ Easy maintenance

Larger footprint than inline solutions

More expensive CAPEX for scrubber and installation

I-line (Inline Scrubbers) ✚ Narrow and tall – small footprint,

easier to install

✚ Can be run hot ✚ Lower CAPEX for scrubber and

installation

✚ Higher water pH out of the scrubber

− Much higher energy consumption

and Opex

− Maintenance issues with a single

main engine

SCRUBBER SELECTION - OPEN LOOP

Cheaper in CAPEX and OPEX than a hybrid system Works in most sea areas Easy to operate and to maintain Fast to design and install Can be used in conjunction with fast “plug and play” fuel switch over systems at zero discharge areas High energy consumption due to large seawater pumps Cannot operate in zero discharge e.g. Singapore, Fujairah, some EU ports, US coast, or fresh water areas; However, mitigating operational modes are possible

  • Customised. Compliant. Commercial. Complete.

SCRUBBER SELECTION HYBRID-READY

Cheaper in CAPEX and OPEX than a hybrid system Works in most water

  • bodies. Can be converted

into Hybrid system Easy to operate and to maintain Fast to design and install Can be used in conjunction with fast “plug and play” fuel switch over systems at zero discharge areas High energy consumption due to large seawater pumps Can be converted into hybrid operation by strategic positioning of nozzles and pre- installation planning of key equipment and tanks

  • Customised. Compliant. Commercial. Complete.

Environmental Impact

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has introduces a maritime law requiring vessels to reduce their Sulphur Oxides (SOx) emission in certain waters worldwide. A global 0.5% Sulphur cap in 2020 will have a positive effect on the air we breathe and save thousands of lives every year. (Corbett et al. 2007) Studies have shown that there is enough supply of required heavy fuel oil and suitable abatement technologies to help all ships comply with global legislation. Kamelia Cleantech have a vast experience in retrofitting scrubbers from both technical and commercial perspectives. Delivering our scrubber systems enable vessels to comply with current and future emission standards.

  • Customised. Compliant. Commercial. Complete.

Control Software

  • Customised. Compliant. Commercial. Complete.

Advanced & Adaptive software for effective solutions.

The software helps optimise the vessel operations and:

  • Reduce alkali usage by as much as 40%
  • Reduce Scrubber Water consumption by 33%,

which translates into fuel savings

  • Enable remote monitoring and reporting

Smart Decisions support Profitable Solutions.

Work On-Voyage

  • Customised. Compliant. Commercial. Complete.

A revolutionary technology for the shipping industry to reduce opportunity costs and vessel downtime.

  • Opportunity cost for a merchant vessel is typically $10-$50k/day
  • Drydock availability and time slots are at premium - Approx cost $80k extra / day for large vessels
  • Diversions - $100k to $600k

Hot Tapping underwater penetrations using proven oilfield technology Single Point of Contact

Typical Opportunity Costs We Ensure Minimised Opportunity Costs

  • Vessel installation downtime can be reduced by 70 % by conducting the work “on voyage”
  • Typical downtime for Kamelia Cleantech approach is 4-7 days
