  2. Why Reorganize?  Loss of 18 vacant positions in FY13.  In the past, custodian have been allocated based upon a variety of factors.  Job descriptions are out dated.  Cleaning occurs while facilities are occupied. 2

Proposed Custodial Staffing  Utilize a modified version of the California Association of School Business Officials (CASBO) custodial allocation formula.  Each school will have two, 260 day custodial personnel.  School > 90,000 sf ‐ Head Custodian Large Facility (LF) Grade 6 9 g y ( )  School < 90,000 sf ‐ Head Custodian Regular Facility (RF) Grade 5  Each school will have one, Custodian Grade 4  All other custodians will be 217 day Custodial Workers Grade 2 3

However, no step or COL increases will be allowed. 10
