Project Goals

The Brown County Public Works Department, in coordination with the Villages of Howard and Suamico, have identified the following goals for the reconstruction of CTH M.

Project Goals

  • 1. Improve safety for all modes of transportation – vehicles,

pedestrians, and bicyclists.

  • 2. Reduce vehicular traffic congestion.
  • 3. Provide good access to businesses and property owners,

including access management strategies for the corridor.

  • 4. Design for the next 25 years of traffic and economic

development growth.

  • 5. Design in a fiscally responsible manner, meeting project

needs without overbuilding.

Project Goals

  • 6. Minimize right-of-way acquisition.
  • 7. Minimize environmental impacts.
  • 8. Minimize disruption during construction as much as possible

to traffic, businesses, schools, etc.

  • 9. Maintain a 45 mph speed limit from US 41 to Cornell Road.
  • 10. Accommodate entryway aesthetic features (signs, lighting,

etc.) the municipalities may want to incorporate into the project.

 High School traffic can utilize the Rockwell Lane roundabout.  CTH M traffic can be detoured through the Belmont roundabout during this stage.  Detour route will be Belmont Road to Belle Plane Road to Cardinal Lane for this stage.
