Benefits of Proposed Roadway Section

Left turn lanes provide additional capacity and safety Provides bicycle lanes Widens sidewalks Meets the needs of future travel demand Maintains access to most existing driveways

Tree Evaluation

Healthy and

Unhealthy (mostly from utility lines)

All trees surveyed

and assessed by arborist

Significant Oak Trees

will be preserved where possible

slide-12
SLIDE 12

Environmental Assessment

No previously recorded archaeological sites within the

corridor

No wetlands or floodplains within the corridor Moderate likelihood of gopher tortoises. A 100% gopher

tortoise survey of the pond sites is recommended prior to construction

Potential for presence of the Eastern Indigo Snake

SLIDE 13

Drainage / Pond Siting

No additional stormwater runoff will drain from C-466A to US

301 over existing conditions

The existing retention pond at the Sumter County Professional

Center will be expanded

The existing Sumter County retention pond located near Milray

Avenue will be expanded

A new retention pond will be constructed on the old City of

Wildwood Library site, per the interlocal agreement between Sumter County and the City of Wildwood

Coordination with the Villages will occur during design to allow

additional pavement near Powell Road to drain to an onsite retention pond

slide-14
SLIDE 14

Right-of-Way Acquisition

Approximately 3.2 acres total ROW needed from 47 parcels

for roadway widening

Additional property will be required for drainage pond

requirements

No whole property acquisitions are required Some property owners have expressed interest in whole

property acquisition
