  19. Pesticide and Pest Management 22

  20. Pesticide Management • Pesticide management is an integral part and building block for Agricultural sustainability. • FFFPL follows one unified model for Pesticide Management for operations PAN India. • Each crop has been designated a Unique Proposed Pesticide Usage List (PPU) . • Propose Pesticide Usage list enlist the Pesticides which can be used for a particular crop. • Proposed Pesticide Usage list is drafted based on EU/UK Regulations, EU Approved Pesticides, EU MRL’s, Customer Requirements, Indian Pesticide Regulations.

  21. Pesticide Management • PPU for a particular crop will be same across all locations and is followed religiously. • Pesticide Monitoring is being done by External lab testing for all crops based on risk assessment. • All pesticide spray activities taken place at a field is being recorded in a controlled document. • Farming team is being regularly updated about changes in Pesticide regulations to keep in line with changing norms. • Pesticide storage and handling is carried out by trained individuals only and in alignment with guidelines laid down by various standards like Global GAP, Field to Fork etc.

  22. Establishment of scientific methodology for pest and disease management • Intercropping • Crop rotation • Cover cropping Use of IPM practices- • Physical Control • Biological Control • Organic chemical control • Chemical Control

  23. Recommendations : Different colour sticky traps Blue trap: A number of important pest insects are attracted to a range of specific colour Wave lengths. These colours present stimuli to the insect which may elicit a number of responses ranging from host plant recognition to ovipositional attractant, sexual stimuli etc. for certain species of thrips and leaf miners. Yellow sticky Traps: Small flying insect pests are attracted by the unique yellow color and stick to the non-drying glue coating the trap. Yellow sticky traps are a non toxic way to control and monitor – whiteflies, aphids, Cabbage white butterfly, fruit flies, thrips, cucumber beetles, leafhoppers etc. White sticky traps: White traps are for monitoring flea beetles and tarnished plant bugs
