SAC Meeting Minutes: ​October 23, 2019 Opening: The regular meeting of the Lake Park Elementary SAC Committee was called to order on October 23, 2019 by Kelly Williams at 6:00 pm. Roll Call and Determination of Quorum: A. Approval of Minutes

• Mrs. Kelly Williams, SAC Chairperson, reviewed the minutes from the previous
• meeting. A motion was made to approve the minutes by Siporah Dean and was

seconded by Evan Girodet. The SAC minutes from the previous meeting were approved by a unanimous vote. B. Adoption of Agenda Agenda was distributed at sign in and was unanimously approved as distributed. C. Old Business There was no old business to discuss from the previous SAC meeting. D. New Business

• 1. A committee of both instructional and non-instructional staff met to put together
• ptions for disbursement of A+ funds. All staff members had the opportunity to

vote by submitting a secret ballot after school on October 23, 2019. The voting results consisted of the following:

• 60 votes submitted by staff members on 10/23/19:

○ 35 staff members voted for a 50/50 split of the funds. ○ 17 staff members voted for an 80/20 split of the funds. ○ 3 staff members voted for a 75/25 split of the funds. ○ 5 staff members voted for a 70/30 split of the funds. ○ 0 staff members voted for an alternative option not listed on the secret ballot.

Joan Heinrich made a motion to vote to approve the disbursement of A+ funds as

• utlined above. The motion was seconded by Betsy Landers. The disbursement of

A+ funds for a 50/50 split (equal pay for instructional and non-instructional staff) was unanimously approved by voting members.

• 2. Teachers from each grade level team reviewed grade level reports, updates, and

announcements for the following grade levels. (Detailed reports for each grade level and subject area are available on the SAC PowerPoint which will also be available on the school website after each SAC meeting.)

• Pre-K: ​Mrs. Williams provided updates and information for students in

Pre-K.

• Kindergarten: ​Mrs. Williams provided updates and information for

students in Kindergarten.

• First Grade: ​ Mrs. Heinrich provided updates and information for

students in first grade.

• Second Grade: ​Mrs. Mesadieu provided updates and information for

students in second grade.

• Third Grade: ​Mrs. Williams​ ​provided updates and information for

students in third grade.

• Fourth Grade: ​ Ms. Dean provided updates and information for students

in fourth grade.

• Fifth Grade: ​ Ms. Dean provided updates and information for students in

grade five.

• Fine Arts: ​ provided updates and information for students in K-5 for all

FIne Arts classes. E. Leadership Reports: Michelle Fleming, Principal

• A+ Money / School Recognition: SAC input and vote
• New Staff Members: Mrs. Pataca (2nd), Ms. Navarro (1st), Mrs. Holland

(CLF), Mrs. Smith (5th), Ms. K. Fleming (Co-Located Mental Health Counselor)

• Newly promoted Ms. Lambrou as our Single School Culture Coord.

• New Math series: enVision Florida/Pearson Success Maker/Pearson

Realize

• End of 1st Trimester - Report Cards going home Friday, November 15th
• “SY20WIG”: Wildly Important Goal = Maintain our ‘A’ Status
• Make sure your children are working on iReady Reading & completing all

homework assigned, especially READING 20-30 minutes daily :)

• Red Ribbon Week: October 28th - November 1st / Dress Up Days
• No School November 11th
• Vision & Hearing Screening = November 13th
• Coming up soon….. Winter Diagnostics & iReady Diagnostic #2

F. Closing Remarks/Public Commentary

• 1. A request was made to share the SAC minutes on the school website so they can

be accessed electronically. The request will be fulfilled prior to the next SAC meeting and all SAC minutes will be uploaded to the school website for the remainder of the year as well as the SAC PowerPoints that are shared with parents & community members at each SAC meeting.
