  11. Fourth Grade ELA Ms. O’Connor & Mrs. Davis In Reading we have finished Unit 1 Key Ideas and Details in Informational Texts. The students took both a USA and Standard Mastery on the material and all did a great job. When we return from the Thanksgiving break - the students will work on Craft and Structure in Informational texts. In Writing the students are getting ready to take their final writing assessment in Opinion writing. A Fall Break Pack will be coming home with students this week - please make sure that they complete it and bring it back with them on Monday December 2nd. We are celebrating our I-Ready success in reading class - with a friendly competition between reading classes.

  12. Fourth Grade Math Ms. Dean -Unit 7 was just assessed on Monday 11/18/19. As you the data shows, their hard-work and effort from most of the Unit 7 students are truly paying off. -Unit 8 just started on Tuesday which is about Equivalent Fractions. We are focusing on Fractions Models to create equivalent fractions and numberlines. -Fall Packets will be coming home tomorrow with 4th graders. Please make sure they do them to keep concepts taught fresh in their minds!

  14. Fifth Grade Rotary Club Student of the Month Jemima Dictant was chosen as the Rotary Club Student of the Month from Ms. Mulcahy’s class. Jemima was chosen for her outstanding reputation around the school as a true leader. She strives to do the very best she can in every aspect of her life. We are going to miss her next year when she moves on to HL Watkins, but we will stand proud knowing she came from the LPES Pride!

  16. Fifth Grade ELA Ms. Mulcahy and Mrs. Smith ELA BE SURE YOUR STUDENT IS READING EVERY NIGHT ! We just finished Unit 1 on Main idea and Key Details, the students proved themselves to be proficient overall! The 5th grade students are starting Unit 3 on Craft and Structure. We will finish this unit by the first week we are back in Important ELA Dates January. The students will be wrapping up December 5th Unit 3 FSQ 1 ★ Writing our study on informative essays December 10th and 11th ★ ELA Winter Diagnostic tomorrow with the 2nd PBPA. December 17th and 18th ★ The grade is requesting from SAC iReady Winter Diagnostic the Top Score digital curriculum to December 17th Editing Task ★ enhance our writing studies. This December 19th Unit 3 FSQ 2 ★ curriculum has proven to be a great resource for our students.

  17. Fifth Grade Math and Science Ms. Whitman, Ms. Bradley Fifth graders are currently working in Topic/Unit 7 in Science Winter ★ Math and Unit 4 in Science . In Math they are Diagnostic learning how to add and subtract fractions that have December 3 Session 1 December 5 Session 2 unlike denominators and in Science they are learning about Forces and Motion. Math Winter ★ Diagnostic December 12 Session 1 December 13 Session 2 How Parents Can Help Students with Math ● Help students make lists of multiples ● Do the homework with them ● Access the textbook on line and look at the examples ● Ask students for their notes as they include examples and steps for solving problems

Also, the District Fall Art Dazzle Exhibit is up now through December 15th at district office. Congratulations to the artists whose work is on display!
