History

KOCKS Krane International GmbH (KOCKS) was founded by

  • Dr. Friedrich Kocks in 1952 and in private hands until 1980.

In 1980 taken over by the Salzgitter group of companies and renamed as SALZGITTER KOCKS GMBH: 1987 the shares where taken over by Bremer Vulkan - the biggest German shipyard at the time - and named as VULKAN KOCKS GMBH In 1990 merger with Vulkan Hafentechnik GmbH - the former Krupp Kranbau Wilhelmshaven - a company well know in the market, with a similar range of products as KOCKS with ist roots going back to the year 1902 the Ardelt Werke in Eberswalde near Berlin. In 1997 the take over by the Maschinenbau KIROW Leipzig Rail & Port AG took place and the company was renamed to KOCKS Krane International GmbH.
