  2. What is Xylitol? • A natural sweetener that occurs in nature. e.g. in birch trees, berries and fruits • A sugar alcohol. The xylitol molecule has five, instead of six, carbon atoms. • Tastes sweet, has a cooling effect. • Has less calories than saccarose (sugar), one Jenkki pellet 2 kcal • A sweetener with dental benefits: prevents caries • The dental effect has been documented in clinical studies.
