Satellite receiver runs on its own open-source software based on Linux, deployed by AB IPBox. The software is intuitive and well known to users who have already worked with Linux receivers.

Overview of interesting features

Detailed description of all functions of the satellite receiver can be found in the user manuals. These are some of the interesting functions or instructions you should know while handling your satellite box: a) Options PIP (Picture In Picture) features. b) Using the Time Shift (Pause Live broadcast). c) Recording two HD programs and watching a third SD program simultaneously. d) How to install additional plugins to your satellite receiver. e) How to easily update your receiver.

a.) PIP (Picture In Picture)

This allows you to watch more television programs simultaneously.

Watching two TV programs. The small window of the program being watched can be moved to any position or resized (zoom in or out). The small window position can be adjusted in small steps so it is possible to place it anywhere.

It is possible to watch at the same time:

• two programs,
• the program being currently

broadcast as well as the program recorded on HDD,

• the program being currently

broadcast as well as another program with the TimeShift possibility.

b.) TimeShift (Pause Live broadcast)

Using only one button you can stop the program being currently broadcast and play it with a time delay afterwards.

In the large window there is an image being watched with the TimeShift feature, while the small window displays another program being currently broadcast.

By pressing the button you will get to the MENU of the receiver where you select "Plugins". This will open the plugin manager. Plugin Browser.

e.) A new software version installation

Installation is simple and consists of the following steps:

✔ Download new software version in RAR format of the manufacturer's website:

http://abipbox.com/tips-downloads

✔ Unzip files from archive and copy them to any flash disc (it doesn't need to be empty). ✔ Connect the flash disc to the receiver and start the receiver. ✔ During booting, as soon as the display shows "AB IPBOX", press ON/OFF button

(right on the box). Begin the installation process.

✔ Done. The installer takes care of the whole installation process itself.
