B. IIBA Certification Options 3 The IIBA currently offers three types of professional business analysis certifications. The qualifications for each of these require progressively more experience and competencies to be achieved. 1. Entry Certificate in Business Analysis [ECBA, 592 recipients*] 2. Certification of Capability in Business Analysis [CCBA, 1292 recipients] 3. IIBA Certifications – At a Glance 4 ECBA : The entry-level Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA) provides individuals with a certificate that recognizes those entering the field of business analysis. - This certificate is beneficial for: Individuals entering the BA profession, including: Students enrolled in BA academic programs. New college graduates. Professionals in career transition to Business Analysis. CCBA : The Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA) recognizes Business Analysis professionals who have two to three years of business analysis experience. - This professional certification is helpful for business analysis practitioners who want to be recognized for their expertise and skills by earning formal recognition. IIBA Exam Activities (cont’d) 8 Exam Preparation Activities Study the IIBA BABOK Guide, v3 – Suggest studying it at least 3 times Note the exam blueprint with its breakdown of questions by BABOK section Review sample questions on IIBA website, pertinent to your exam Read the IIBA Guide to Competency-Based Certification Enroll in exam preparation and test simulation training Prepare by reviewing BABOK v3 Study Guide Seek mentoring from already certified business analysts Attend Study Group sessions, as offered by local IIBA chapters 2/13/2018, p. 8

IIBA Exam Activities (cont’d) 9 Study Group – IIBA Palmetto Chapter (Columbia, SC) Our Palmetto chapter will soon be hosting a BABOK study group for those interested in sitting for an exam, or just learning about this version as the latest and greatest for Business Analysis! Weekly, virtual sessions are planned to review all BABOK content during a four-month period.* Near the end, a session(s) will focus on test preparation and test taking techniques. * A case study will be utilized to make the material more meaningful. 2/13/2018, p. 9
