DAS: Directly Attached Storage (out)  Limited by server’s CPU, I/O ability.  When expanding storage device, the server should be powered off.  Data back up takes long time. NAS: Network Attached Storage  File level storage.  Ideal for file sharing, pictures sharing, video sharing(FTP).  Reading speed faster than write speed.  Data back up occupy network speed. SAN: Storage Area Network  IP SAN & FC SAN, FC SAN with high speed, mainly based on iSCSI protocol.  Data spreads in so many HDDs, applications can visit all HDDs directly, high writing speed.
