Application deadline extended! Apply online before July 15, 2020 at ca.p-ebt.org

Who is eligible?

Children are eligible for P-EBT benefits if they are eligible for free or reduced- price school meals and their school is closed due to COVID-19.

Use it like a debit card.

Families will get up to $365 per eligible child on their P-EBT card to use on food and groceries. If you already have this card, you do not need to apply on
  • line. Starting in mid-June and until the
end of the program, eligible families will get one P-EBT card per child.

How will families get their P- EBT benefits?

Many families with children already got their P-EBT card or already applied
  • nline and are waiting on the results of
their application. If you already got your card or you already applied online, you do not need to apply again. Families with children who are eligible for free or reduced-price meals and eligible for P-EBT may not get their card until August due to application processing and mail delays. *Students can still pick up to-go meals if they have P-EBT benefits. P-EBT is a program by COSS and COE, funded by the USDA, an equal opportunity provider and employer. Pandemic EBT

Get help buying food while schools are closed

Families can receive up to $365 per child to spend on groceries in addition to pick up meals from school through a new program called Pandemic EBT or P-EBT. Visit ca.p-ebt.org/info to learn more!

What does it mean for us? For you? For me?

  • For schools in the Los Angeles Unified, alone, approximately $500 million is provided for our

students.

  • This funds more teachers, nurses, staff and health services in our schools, specifically Title I, II and IV

dollars.

  • An additional $76 billion each year is also provided to the State of California for housing, buses,

public clinics, libraries, bridges, highway renovations and other places of need.

  • We want to inform every household and offer guidance to complete a Census questionnaire

between March-October 31st, 2020.

  • That’s why every person needs to be counted!
