Despite the huge market potential, last mile deliveries is a key impediment to the growth of e-commerce in the region

Key challenges identified by e-commerce players in the region include

Cash on Delivery options: More than 80% of the market in MENA operates on COD , which remains a challenge for international and smaller logistics providers

1

Speed to delivery: Long lead times for deliveries, means that customers can change their mind about shipments, especially in a market that relies heavily on COD

2

Inaccurate delivery addresses: Legacy systems rely on antiquated methods to capture addresses in a region that relies heavily on landmarks, leading to lower success rate of deliveries

3

Cross border deliveries: Unreliable lead times and lack of visibility with cross- border shipments, makes international deliveries a hassle for e-commerce players
