  8. French French The first level of each world language will introduce students to the basics of each language. Students celebrate the shape of the Eiffel Tower.

  9. Spanish Spanish The first level of each world language will introduce students to the basics of each language. Students in Research class work on "cascarones", confetti filled eggs, as part of their cultural studies on "Carnaval" in Spanish- speaking countries.

  10. American Sign Language The first level of each world language will introduce students to the basics of each language. Students to begin to acquire proficiency in American Sign Language through a linguistic, communicative, and cultural approach to language learning.

  12. Band Band promotes the enjoyment and appreciation of music through performance of high- quality, wind and percussion literature from different times and places. Please contact our Band Director, Mrs. Bruijn if interested.  Fair Share Donation:  Concert Band - $100  Marching Band - $300

  13. Drama Drama promotes enjoyment and appreciation for all aspects of theatre. Audition Level classes also offered – See Mr. Beaman if interested. No Fair Share for Introduction to Drama. Audition Level Drama: Fair Share Donation: $75

  14. Chorus promotes the enjoyment and appreciation of music through performance of beginning choral repertoire from a variety of times and places. Guitar Guitar develops basic guitar skills and knowledge, including simple and full-strum chords, bass lines and lead sheets, barre and power chords, foundational music literacy and theory, major scales, simple finger- picking patterns, and ensemble skills for a variety of music.   16. Keyboard builds piano techniques and skills through reading music, acquiring and applying knowledge of music theory, and exploring the role of keyboard music in history and culture.   24. Weight Training The purpose of this course is to develop the physical skills necessary to be competent in many forms of movement as it relates to weight training. If interested, contact Coach Brighton.

Team Sports The purpose of this course is to develop the physical skills necessary to be competent in many forms of movement, knowledge of team sports concepts such as offensive and defensive strategies and tactics, and appropriate social behaviors within a team or group setting. World Cultural Geography* The purpose of this course is the study of Unified Arts the many cultural aspects found throughout the world and how they relate to the spaces and places where they originate and then travel as people continually move across various areas. *Satisfies a Social Studies Elective Credit; English 1 Honors recommended co-requisite.

  28. Teen Leadership The purpose of this Skills course is to teach leadership skills, parliamentary procedure, problem solving, decision making, communication skills, group dynamics, time and stress management, public speaking, human relations, public relations, team building, and other group processes.

  29. Journalism The purpose of this course is to enable students to develop fundamental skills in the production of journalism across print, platforms and to develop knowledge of journalism history, ethics use, and management techniques related to the production of journalistic media.
