TIPS: Choose Courses

Look at all courses taught, not just this year. Many professors can offer directed studies. May take up to two undergraduate-level courses. Look into courses from other departments. Shop for courses in the first week. Talk with senior grads.

Introduce yourself to and talk with professors. Attend reading group meetings. Contact your grad buddy. Talk with your fellow new grads. Talk with senior grads

TIPS: What you should do now

Arrange a meeting with your advisor. Get settled in the bullpens. Meet with the professor for whom you are TAing. Register for courses, pay tuition, set up direct deposit. When all else fails, contact Joyce Poon, the Graduate Program Administrator.
