➢ To stay informed of public policy and influence the enactment or amendment of legislation/ policy

▪ Track state legislations and budgets, federal department policies, US budgets and bills, and county policies and budget ▪ Provide legislative updates to BOT, AHS Executive Leadership Team and staff ▪ Coordinate subject matter experts’ review and analysis of bills/ regulations to determine operational or policy impact ▪ Draft and submit policy position letters ▪ Meet with elected officials on key legislative/policy issues and provide AHS updates ▪ Create advocacy materials such as fact sheets, AHS info packets, and meeting briefings ▪ Attend Alameda County Board of Supervisors Health Committee meetings

▪ Maintain and update stakeholder contacts ▪ Track, sponsor and attend events hosted by our representatives ▪ Invite representatives to AHS’ events ▪ Host facility tours for elected officials and staff ▪ Distribute relevant press releases, AHS stories, and “AHS in the news” to elected officials and staff ▪ Interact and engage on social media platforms, particularly on topics and key legislation ▪ Collaborate and follow-up with representatives on constituent services

Where do Trustees believe they add the most value or enhance legislative affairs advocacy? 4. How does the BOT want to ensure that individual Trustee participation/position align with full BOT position when Trustee is speaking on behalf of AHS? 5. How does staff support BOT ability to participate effectively?
