AP Seminar End-of-Course Exam (2 hours)—45% of AP Seminar Score

The exam consists of four items:

  • 3 short-answer questions that assess

analysis of an argument in a single source

  • r document.
  • 1 essay question that assesses students’

skills in synthesizing and creating an evidence-based argument.

 Design, plan, and conduct a year-long mentored, research-based investigation  Apply research methods and practices to address a real-world topic selected by the student  Write a college-level research paper, present and orally defend the findings and research methodology

AP Research Students learn how to: AP Seminar is a prerequisite to AP Research.

Component Scoring Method Weight Academic Paper (AP) (4,000–5,000 words) College Board scored 75% Presentation and Oral Defense (POD) (15–20 minutes total for presentation followed by three or four questions from a panel of three evaluators) Teacher scored (group score) 25%

Recommended Completion Date: April 15 Submission Deadline: April 30, 11:59 p.m. ET

There’s no end-of-course exam for AP Research.
