What's the Big Deal?

  • The ACT is not just an achievement test. It’s used for...

○ College Selection ■

The ACT is a college entrance test used for admissions. Use Naviance to see the average ACT score needed for a given college.

○ Scholarships ■

The ACT is a competition for scholarship dollars. A score of 24-28 is a benchmark for significant scholarship money for some colleges. For some private schools, the benchmark is a 30–31.

slide-5
SLIDE 5

ACT...also used for:

  • Instead of the “Accuplacer” test, the ACT can be used for

admission & course placement at Technical Colleges such as MATC.

  • Course Placement - Some colleges use ACT scores for placing

students into college courses.

  • NCAA - scores earned on the ACT can be used by students for NCAA

eligibility requirements.

  • State Accountability - Are WI / CHS students learning the skills

required for post-secondary success?
