Multi Academy Trust
- A Multi Academy Trust (MAT) is a group of schools
who form a charitable company and who work together with one single group of ‘members’ who have an overview and a single Board of Trustees. The MAT is responsible for each of the academies in the trust.
- Mission: to raise the educational standards and better the
life chances of students within the MAT through working in partnership to challenge and supporting all schools to continually improve.
Why a MAT?
- Government Policy: “Schools led system” MATs of between 8 –
12 schools is preferred (sustainable) model
- Stronger more secure long term future
- Schools collaborating, sharing good practice to improve
standards for all students
