FRIENDS OF CHILDREN WITH CANCER- OVERVIEW

It is a Network of friends supporting the needs of the families affected by NCDs in Tanzania

Key Objective

! To raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of the NCDs that

affect children, teenagers and young adults amongst parents and young people in Tanzania

! To work with local health canters to speed up referral procedures of

children to reach to the right department in the hospital.

! To support children with special investigation/tests/drugs undergoing

treatment

! To provide information, education and research on NCDs ! To support the recreational and emotional needs of children with

NCDs and their families in hospitals and at home

! To follow up on all the children during and after treatment ! To fundraise for the needs of children affected by NCDs in Tanzania ! To mobilize donation for the children affected by NCDs in Tanzania

Membership is open to all individuals and institutions

Annual Joining fees is Tshs 50,000 for Individuals & Tshs 500,000 Institutions

Key Roles and Responsibilities of Members:

" To raise awareness " To fundraise for the needs of children

" To mobilize donations for the families (drugs, books, toys, cloth)

" To volunteer at the hospital/event " To support families

HOW YOUR SUPPORT CAN HELP

" 10,000-25,000 – will pay for the cost to run Daily School for 10

kids per day

" 30,000 – 50,000 – will pay for Special nutritional Diet for 10 kids

per week

" 60,000 – 100,000 – will pay for special investigation for 3 kids

with cancer

" 150,000 – 250,000 – will pay travel cost of 3 kids to return to the

hospital

" 300,000 – 500,000 - will pay for essential drugs for a child
