Anne’s Vision

1.

To create a Canada-wide network of community-based centres

  • ffering emotional, social, and spiritual support to individuals and

families living with cancer.

2.

Community based organization offering strategies and educational type programming that empowers patients and their loved ones to face their own challenges.

3.

Goal was to enhance medical system to provide holistic comprehensive family-centered supports.

Purpose

 To be a place of healing for cancer patients, their families and

caregivers.

 To provide warmth and a nurturing environment for patients to share

experiences and coping strategies.

 To offer workshops, classes

and individual support services delivered by trained volunteers and professionals. * FREE of charge to participants.

Current History

 We make 10 Wellspring facilities across Canada, including Toronto,

Oakville, London, Stratford, Niagara and Calgary, we know the model works.

 Our Healthcare Advisory Council engages local healthcare professionals

and provides expertise and collaboration to ensure our programs integrate with regular medical treatment.

 Located at 65 Avenue and 113 Street in Edmonton  (near University and The Cross  12,000 sq. ft. facility with full length skylights  1.25 acres of land leased from the Province of Alberta for $1 a year

Wellspring Edmonton Campaign

 Each week 160 (700/month, 8400/year) new patients register at the Cross

Cancer Institute - Northern Alberta.

 Whether a mother, husband, child, grandfather or aunt - cancer touches

everyone.

 Wellspring Edmonton needs ongoing help to meet this critical need. It came

into being through generous donations and will be sustained through donations.

 Projected annualized operating budget of $650,000. Ongoing donations are

always needed.
