Short programme Draft as 29th April 2016 1045 Guests assemble at the Monument

  • All personnel and dignitaries present at F Section Monument.

1100 Ceremony at F Section Memorial.

  • Ceremony commences, led by Maitre de Ceremonie, Monsieur Philippe LE GOUEZ.
  • Lay wreaths on lawn in front of Monument. 4 + 4.
  • Reading of the names of the 104 deceased.
  • One minutes silence followed by English and then French National Anthems.
  • Speeches by:
  • Mr. Claude DOUCET, Vice-président du Conseil Général de l’Indre, Mayor of Valençay
  • Mr. Marcel JAURANT SINGER, président de Libre Résistance,
  • General Sir Michael ROSE, Representing the Special Forces Club, London
  • Air Commodore Paul LYALL, British Defence Attaché, Paris. Representative of the HE

The British Ambassador

  • Representative of the Prefet de l’Indre,
  • Greeting of the Standard Bearers (Approx 30 present - Resistance Hymn will be playing).
  • View the F Section plaque / memorial.

1200 Vin d’Honneur at the Salle des Fetes, Valencay.

  • Traditional cocktail part for those participating at the ceremony, offered by the Maire of

Valencay.

  • (Approx 25 guests will attend this before the Cocktail party at the Orangerie).

1215 Cocktail party at the Orangerie, Chateau de Valencay.

  • Cocktail party for 70 guests.
  • Good weather drill : Terrace in front of the orangerie
  • Bad weather drill : inside the Orangerie
  • (approx 25 guests will arrive late having participated at the Vin d’honneur in the Salle des

fetes.)

1300 Lunch at the Orangerie, Chateau de Valencay.

  • Lunch for 70 guests

15h30 Visit to the Chateau de Valencay.

  • Visit the furnished apartments, the dungeons, the kitchens and the grounds of the Chateau.
  • Prior boking is required – we have negotiated tariffs at a group rate with the Chateau.
  • Cost € 8 (+€ 3 for a headset in English).

15h30 First of two visits to the house of Max Hymans & 16h45 (in the village where he first met Georges Bégué)

  • The owners have requested groups of no more than 15 persons.
  • Prior boking is required for this.
