HOW DOES THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM WORK?

UNIVERSITY-BOUND STUDENTS ARE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE UP TO 24 WEEKS OF FREE ESL CLASSES AT ANY OHLA CAMPUS!

1. Submit application documents & take initial testing to formulate study plan. 2. Students must select from one of our partner Universities participating in the OHLA ESL Scholarship Program. 3. Students are to pay a (credited) deposit to secure admission to the University.

 Up to 24 weeks of free ESL classes: The deposit to be paid is: $8,500  Up to 12 weeks of free ESL classes: The deposit to be paid is: $6,000

4. Upon completion of OHLA’s required level students will receive the full credit of their deposit towards their first semester at the selected University!

WHAT IS THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM REGISTRATION PROCESS?

1) Complete OHLA Application Form along with nonrefundable Application Fee of $120. 2) Potential candidates must take a Pearson Exam, code is provided by OHLA. The Pearson Exam should be proctored by the Agency. 3) An Oral Skype interview will then be conducted by an OHLA Academic Staff Member to verify their current English level. 4) OHLA will formulate a Study Plan for the student. Up to 24 weeks of ESL classes will be applied. 5) For qualified candidates, we will need the following documents for admission to OHLA and the chosen University: a) High School Transcripts + Translations b) High School Diploma + Translations c) Valid Passport d) Proof of Funds for period of study

4) Once OHLA and the chosen University have reviewed and approved the student’s admissibility, the security deposit ($8,500 USD or $6,000 USD) will then be collected. 5) Students will receive an I-20 Form and Letter of Acceptance from OHLA and a Conditional Letter of Acceptance from the chosen University. 6) Students will make an appointment with a US Embassy in their home country to apply for the F-1 student visa. 7) Once students reach and complete the Advanced 2 or Elite level, they will receive the I-20 Form from the University and begin their studies. Note: if visa is denied, please refer to the detailed refund policy on the next page.

• If the visa is denied, students will receive a full refund

minus the following initial fees:

• $120 OHLA Application Fee
• $80 Mailing Fee
• Students will receive NO refund on the Scholarship

Program if they leave the program after their initial ESL Program start date.

• Students who fail either OHLA’s Advanced 1 or 2 level

are allowed to “repeat” the level. However, tuition cost associated with repeating any level at OHLA will be the full responsibility of the student.

IF THE STUDENT DOES NOT TEST INTO OHLA’S ADVANCED 1 LEVEL CAN THEY STILL PARTICIPATE?

YES! IT IS POSSIBLE FOR ALL STUDENTS TO TAKE PART IN THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM REGARDLESS OF THEIR CURRENT ESL LEVEL.

• However, please keep in mind that OHLA’s University

Scholarship Program will only cover up to 24 weeks of the ESL tuition cost.

• Students can register and pay for as many ESL classes

needed to reach the Advanced 1 level. Once students reach OHLA’s Advanced 1 level, all terms of OHLA’s University Scholarship Program will then apply.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW?

• OHLA’s University Scholarship Program only covers

the tuition portion of the program.

• Students are fully responsible for other expenses

such as: SEVIS fee, books, insurance, accommodation, meals, airport transfer etc.

• The ESL Scholarship Program does not cover

University tuition.
