Ambulance Strike Team

slide-60
SLIDE 60

Ambulance Strike Team

  • This program has been developed by the

Emergency Medical Services Authority as a critical component of the State’s capability to rapidly mobilize medical transportation resources in times of medical need that exceed local capacity.

slide-61
SLIDE 61

Ambulance Strike Team

  • Participation in AST’s is required for Counties in possession of

a DMSU

  • Region V possesses three DMSU’s
  • Strike Teams can be used as a Regional and/or state resource.
  • Most common resource requested in large scale disasters.
  • Example: Oroville incident utilized over 5 AST’s for response

during the Dam incident.

slide-62
SLIDE 62

Ambulance Strike Team

  • Region V is looking to hold a formal AST

Leader training

  • Location is TBD but EMSA is willing to teach

two training sessions if enough interest is generated

  • Minimum of 10 qualified people must attend
  • CEU’s can be obtained for the class
  • Participants need to have recommended

prerequisites in order to attend
