- This program has been developed by the
Emergency Medical Services Authority as a critical component of the State’s capability to rapidly mobilize medical transportation resources in times of medical need that exceed local capacity.
SLIDE 61 Ambulance Strike Team
- Participation in AST’s is required for Counties in possession of
a DMSU
- Region V possesses three DMSU’s
- Strike Teams can be used as a Regional and/or state resource.
- Most common resource requested in large scale disasters.
- Example: Oroville incident utilized over 5 AST’s for response
during the Dam incident.

Leader training
- Location is TBD but EMSA is willing to teach
two training sessions if enough interest is generated
- Minimum of 10 qualified people must attend
- CEU’s can be obtained for the class
- Participants need to have recommended
