Electrical setup at 19 Chancellors Mains connected with additional 4kW of PV generation and 4.8kWh of battery storage with automatic failover to battery supply in the event of a power cut. Inverter and batteries are housed in garage. There are


  1. Electrical setup at 19 Chancellors Mains connected with additional 4kW of PV generation and 4.8kWh of battery storage with automatic failover to battery supply in the event of a power cut. Inverter and batteries are housed in garage. There are 3 fuse boards. 1 main in downstairs cloak; 1 subsidiary for battery-backed up circuits also in downstairs cloak; 1 for garage circuits.

  2. Main fuse box with PV isolator Cable duct (top right) carries circuits that have been moved to battery-backed fuse board. New cables to fuse board for POD to use same duct please.

  3. Main fuse board 6 circuits have been moved over to battery- backed fuse board.

  4. Battery-backed fuse box ...with duct around external cable entry. New POD cables to use existing duct please if coming into main fuse board.

  5. Battery-backed fuse box

  6. Meter cabinet One possible location for POD POINT charger is on this external wall to right of meter cabinet in which case connection will be to main fuse board in downstairs cloakroom following existing cable pathway.

  7. Cables under gravel Solar AC cables (and any new ones going to main fuse box inside) go under gravel trap at front of house.

  8. Right hand door frame External cable entry comes up inside right hand door frame column. New cabling to use same route please.

  9. Inside electricity meter cabinet Contains: ● Meter ● Failover circuitry ● Hot water clamp circuit for excess generation

  10. Garage fuse board Currently no spare fuse locations. If we chose to locate POD charger off garage board then might need to be upgraded. But a connection to this board would be a much simpler physical process.

  11. Inside garage fuse board

  12. PV Inverter Inverter with DC and AC isolators. Also located in the garage. Battery supply connected via red/black cables (bottom right).
